We have been out and about exploring the wonderful natural beauty of the ‘Sunshine Coast’ again. This time we headed to the small seaside village of Cannon Rocks near Kenton-on-Sea to walk the 7km Cannon Trail. The trailhead starts next to the old cannons and anchor salvaged from one of the many shipwrecks in the area. The trail is managed by Sanparks and is free of charge. The first part of the trail heads through the bush before arriving at a view point. The trail is well marked and easy to follow until you arrive at the very impressive dunes. At this point head over the dunes at about 11 o’clock and you will see a red sign. Head towards it and the down to the beach. You can walk back to Cannon Rocks via the beach to complete a spectacular circuit.
Just another reason to come and stay with us at Morley House in Bathurst and use us as a base for a few days to explore this stunning area of the Eastern Cape.
