A busy time in Bathurst as the weekend after the art fair it is time for the Bathurst Country Affair, a festival of food, drink and fun events.
Morley House Tea Gardens will be hosting 'A Celebration of British Food & Drink' with various events throughout the day.
10 am – 11 am: Tea Tasting Competition (free).
Taste 4 different speciality teas and try to guess the type of tea. Get all 4 correct and win a free pot of tea.
2 pm – 4 pm: High Tea (R80 per person, bookings essential).
Treat yourself to a traditional English High Tea consisting of a selection of sandwiches, cakes and a pot of speciality tea (or coffee).
6 pm – 7pm: Food and Drink Quiz (R 20 per person).
Get a team together (maximum 4 per team) and test your knowledge of food and drink. Great prizes to be won.*Pre-registration of teams required.
7 pm – 9 pm: Lancashire Hot Pot Supper (R 50 per person or R 60 for the quiz and hot pot).
After the quiz enjoy a traditional Lancashire hot pot supper (a stew from the North West of England).
You can bring your own beer or wine for the quiz and the hot pot supper.
Throughout the day (9am – 4pm) we will be serving a selection of traditional British fayre such as English breakfast, cream tea (scone, fruit loaf, jam butter, cream), ploughman’s lunch, cottage pie, home-baked biscuits and speciality teas in our tea rooms.
